Best Sushi in Causeway Bay
Colour key: prices · what to do · cautions · places
Causeway Bay has no sushi restaurant among the starred names in the MICHELIN Guide Hong Kong 2026 list. Choose instead between intimate omakase counters, long-running Japanese dining rooms and busy conveyor chains. The most recent dinner course price we found in a dated source was HKD 1,480 at Sushi Nyoi, reported in January 2025, so confirm current prices.
Sushi Nyoi on Sharp Street East suits a quiet Edomae counter meal. Sushi Hiro in Henry House suits diners who want a long-running Japanese dining room with lunch sets. Hika on Jardine’s Bazaar suits groups who want omakase alongside skewers and sake. Gatten Sushi on Russell Street suits a quick, lower-cost meal while shopping.
30-second decision: Quiet Edomae counter: Sushi Nyoi. Lunch set in a classic dining room: Sushi Hiro. Groups and sake: Hika. Shopping-break sushi under HKD 200: Gatten Sushi. Every pick needs a price check before booking.
1. Omakase counters
Sushi Nyoi, The Sharp
Where: 18/F, The Sharp, 11 Sharp Street East, Causeway Bay. Open Google Maps. The official site lists lunch 12:00–14:30 and dinner 18:00–22:00 daily; phone 2352 3368.
A food blogger reported a HKD 1,480 dinner omakase in January 2025, then offered at a sixth-anniversary discount. The official site publishes no prices, so treat that figure as historical. Choose it for: seasonal Edomae sushi in a small, private-feeling room. Limitation: the same blogger found the price a little high without the discount.
Sushi Hiro, Henry House
Where: 10/F, Henry House, 42 Yun Ping Road, Causeway Bay. Open Google Maps. OpenRice lists Causeway Bay MTR Exit F1, 12:00–15:00 and 18:30–22:30 daily, 30 seats, a 10% service charge and phone 2882 8752.
Diners on OpenRice describe lunch sets at roughly HKD 200–300, with sashimi, sushi and tempura as the main draws, plus an omakase at dinner. Choose it for: a calm lunch with set options for different eaters. Limitation: the most detailed price reports are several years old, and one reviewer complained about crowded seating. Ask for current set prices when booking.
2. Groups and casual sushi
Hika, Aura on Pennington
Where: 3/F, Aura on Pennington, 66 Jardine’s Bazaar, Causeway Bay. Open Google Maps. OpenRice lists 60 seats, a 10% service charge, BYOB and a 3-minute walk from Exit F1.
The official site names executive chef Fei Ngan, whose past kitchens include Gonpachi. When checked, OpenRice advertised half-price selected sake and 20% off skewers, Monday to Thursday. Choose it for: birthdays or groups mixing omakase, sushi platters and grilled skewers. Limitation: hours differ: the official site says dinner runs until midnight, but OpenRice lists 23:00.
Gatten Sushi, Russell Street
Where: 3/F, Emperor Watch and Jewellery Centre, 8 Russell Street, Causeway Bay. Open Google Maps. OpenRice lists 11:00–22:00 daily and a HKD 101–200 spending band.
Choose it for: a fast meal while shopping, with cooked items as well as sushi. Limitation: this is chain conveyor dining, not chef’s-counter sushi. For more budget picks, see cheap kaiten sushi in Causeway Bay.
Fallback: Sushiro at Causeway Bay Plaza 2, 463–483 Lockhart Road. Sources list it on both 2/F and 3/F; Sushiro’s own branch page says Shop 3A, 3/F.
3. Book and arrive
Taxi card: Hika, 銅鑼灣渣甸街66號亨環3樓. Gatten Sushi, 銅鑼灣羅素街8號英皇鐘錶珠寶中心3樓. Both addresses are as shown on OpenRice.
