Sushi Takeaway Near MTR Stations in Hong Kong

Collecting sushi on your way home is often better than having it delivered. You avoid fees, the fish spends less time out of the fridge, and you can check it before you pay. Hong Kong makes this easy because the big sushi chains put their branches inside or right next to MTR stations.

Takeaway essentials. Order ahead on the chain's own site where possible. Collect from a branch beside your station exit. Choose rolls, bowls and sashimi over nigiri if you have a long trip. No eating in the MTR's paid areas. Refrigerate within 30 minutes if you are not eating straight away.

What to buy for the journey

If you are eating within fifteen minutes, anything works. For a longer trip, choose rice bowls, cut rolls and sashimi rather than nigiri, which firms up quickly. Skip fried rolls, which go soft. Chain takeaway prices are easy to compare: Sushiro's boxes run HKD 48 for six, HKD 80 for ten and HKD 128 for sixteen. See premium chain takeaway sets and the best chirashi don.

No eating on the MTR. Eating and drinking are not allowed in the paid areas of MTR stations and trains. Carry your sushi home, keep it cold, and eat it when you arrive.

Collecting when delivery stops

Delivery apps pause during severe weather. On 18 June 2026, when the Black Rainstorm Warning was raised, Keeta and foodpanda suspended delivery, but takeaway collection stayed available. A station-side branch is a useful fallback. See sushi delivery in Hong Kong.

Keeping takeaway sushi safe

Hong Kong's Centre for Food Safety classifies sushi and sashimi as high-risk foods and identifies 4°C to 60°C as the danger zone. Buy raw fish last, carry it in an insulated bag on long journeys, refrigerate at 0°C to 4°C within thirty minutes, and never keep it overnight. See how to store sushi and sashimi safely.
